The “Sales Multi-Picking” extension module for multi-order picking adds a function to SAP Business One that is lacking in the standard ERP solution, but is extremely valuable in everyday warehouse operations.

Instead of creating a separate picklist for each picking order and walking through the warehouse multiple times, multiple picking orders are cleverly bundled.The mobile solution analyzes all relevant orders and storage bins and automatically applies route-optimized sorting. This results in a digital picklist that is displayed directly on the mobile devices of warehouse personnel. It guides them through the warehouse in a structured manner, providing real-time digital feedback regarding the withdrawal storage bin and quantity. Incorrect picks and posting errors are thus consistently avoided.

The video from Ortlieb Sportartikel GmbH shows how efficiently multiple orders can be picked in one go. With the L-mobile barcode scanner solution, up to eight orders are combined and assigned to color-coded containers on the picking trolley. This allows items to be clearly assigned and orders to be kept separate visually. With just a scan, employees then start the process for creating the delivery note, withdrawal postings, printing the shipping label and invoice—and the package can be shipped directly.

And the result for Ortlieb? Since implementing multi-order picking, process routes for employees and the time it takes to train temporary staff have been significantly reduced. Tracking technologies

Tracking technologies such as UWB or GPS can be used to further optimize multi-order picking for many companies. For example, tracking the location of the picking trolley, specific pallets, or forklifts shows where picking is currently taking place—if necessary, even outdoors or with accuracy to within a few feet or inches.
