Extending the SAP Business One functions with L-mobile warehouse ready for SAP Business One

Would you like to be able to view all warehouse stock at a glance? You can do just that with the “Stock Info” module of our mobile warehouse management solution in combination with SAP Business One. Using the function included in the basic module, your entire warehouse stock can be displayed clearly, quickly, and with total transparency on a mobile handheld scanner. The current availability of goods and their storage locations can be identified quickly and easily. The stock information is transferred from the ERP system by L-mobile warehouse ready for SAP Business One. You and your employees can call up the desired material stock, either on a completely digital basis by scanning or via manual entry on a handheld device. With the SAP Business One module, there are three ways to call up stock records on a mobile basis:

Stock information via item number
When the material stock is called up in SAP Business One as well as further information using the corresponding item number, the desired stock information across storage bins or storage locations is displayed on the mobile handheld device.
Stock information via batch or serial number
The batch or serial number of an item can also be used to call up stock records in mobile warehouse management. In this case, the data that is output is displayed across items as well as across storage bins or storage locations.
Stock information via storage location or storage bin
With the third option, stock information can also be called up by entering or scanning the storage location or storage bin. In this case, the stock records are displayed across items for the employee.

As soon as the desired stock information has been output, additional filter options can be specified within the selection on the mobile handheld device. When calling up the stock overview, your warehouse personnel also get the stored batch information and are informed automatically via the stock record if the relevant storage bins should ever be blocked.

Thanks to a complete and comprehensive stock overview, you are able to significantly increase the transparency of daily tasks in the warehouse. As they make their way through the warehouse, your warehouse personnel can access the necessary stock information at any time—flexibly and on a mobile basis—whether they come across an item out of place in an aisle or they want to find out the current stock of the items stored in a storage bin. Thanks to this new level of transparency, search times and long process routes are significantly reduced and unnecessary costs due to insufficient stock information in the warehouse are kept to a minimum.

Standard solution for stock overview in the ERP system

SAP Business One users can get a detailed overview of warehouse stock in the ERP system in different places as standard. With the SAP Business One module “Inventory Reports”, there are three ways to call up information about items and stock.

Calling up stock information via the “Items List” in SAP Business One
Using self-defined selection criteria, the “Items List” is used to create lists of the desired items of warehouse stock.
Calling up stock information via the “Inventory Status” in SAP Business One
The SAP Business One function “Inventory Status” can be used to create a report showing the planned inventory transactions. This includes inventory with the status “In Stock” (current warehouse stock), “Committed” (reserved for a sales order or production order), “Ordered” (quantity already purchased or produced), or “Available” (equals in stock quantity plus ordered quantity minus committed quantity).
Calling up stock information via the “Inventory in Warehouse Report” in SAP Business One
The “Inventory in Warehouse Report” lists all of the current warehouse stock. In the normal report, items can be selected and their storage locations displayed. Items and their total inventory are always displayed by warehouse. It is possible to select either committed items (total inventory including quantities for sales orders or production orders) or ordered items (total inventory including quantities in orders).

Unlike mobile warehouse management with L-mobile warehouse ready for SAP Business One, where all employees are able to call up the stock overview anywhere, anytime via a mobile handheld device, the standard lists and reports from the ERP system itself can only be called up on a stationary computer or printed out. This takes up a lot of time, as long distances have to be covered to retrieve the desired information in the ERP system. Otherwise, employees may not have the latest information available to them, as data cannot be updated in real time when working with printed lists.
