A lack of transparency within stock management in the warehouse results in long search times and errors in individual movements of goods. While long-standing employees often know about warehouse stock availability due to their experience, new employees depend on quick and accurate information.
The “Stock Info” function in the warehouse management software (WMS) for Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) and Business Central can be used to perform real-time stock management in the warehouse—right there on the spot. Employees can independently filter for the warehouse stock they are looking for using various parameters. When querying stock, the NAV/Business Central mobile data collection solution accesses the “Item posting” table (for storage locations without storage bins) or the “Storage bin contents” table (for storage locations with storage bins) in the Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central ERP system in the background. However, specific knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Microsoft Dynamics NAV is not required.
Using the “Stock Info” function in the mobile data collection solution for Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central, warehouse stock can be accessed by scanning the item number or by scanning the storage bin or storage location. It is also possible to search for batches and serial numbers, as well as view information and availability, using the “Stock Info” function in the mobile warehouse management solution for MS Dynamics NAV/Business Central. If the scanned item is a blocked item, this is visualized accordingly in the mobile warehouse management solution.
