The problem is that by the time the data has been typed into the ERP system, it is already out of date or incorrect. A much easier way is to use mobile scanners and a WMS software solution.

Relocating items in real time

L-mobile WMS is connected to your ERP system in real time. The digital application provides all the necessary information about warehouse stock on mobile devices. If an item needs to be relocated, simply open the “Relocation” module in the app. Go to the storage bin, scan it and the item to be removed. Now enter the desired quantity for this stock transfer. Then you just need to specify the target storage bin by scanning it. Confirming the posting transfers it to the ERP system—and you’re done!

L-mobile WMS actively prevents incorrect stock transfers and postings. For example, if an item is to be relocated to a storage bin, the bin status is always checked. If the storage bin is currently being inventoried or is blocked for other reasons, the user is notified by the system and the posting cannot be executed.

Another common source of error often occurs when paper lists are typed up after a stock transfer. With L-mobile WMS, you can post the relocation process right there on the spot—there is no post-processing required. By using scanners and mobile data collection, you not only speed up your warehouse processes, but also achieve transparency regarding all stock.

How to make stock transfer faster and more transparent

L-mobile WMS automatically recommends a suitable storage bin in the “Relocation” module. In addition, you can avoid lengthy searches by using the free location search to find available storage bins. One especially practical feature is that clicking the item takes you to the stock information, where you can view all details relating to the stock of the goods.

If you want to transfer individual items from different storage bins to a shared target storage bin, you can add the “Batch Storage” extension module to your WMS. The “Batch Relocation” extension module is also available. This allows you to temporarily post goods to a transit storage space (for example, on trolleys, carts, and more). So if you move goods between two storage bins and want to have full transparency during the process, the mobile WMS solution has you covered.
