Not only can this lead to mistakes when counting or when deciphering handwritten notes, but the high level of effort involved can also bring entire warehouses to a standstill. By connecting to your ERP system, count lists are made available on mobile handheld scanners and processed via the clearly structured interface, and the quantities are then automatically transferred back to the ERP system. If your ERP system is not capable of creating inventory lists, you can also do this in the WMS. No more manual typing up of inventory results—the inventory management software transfers the results for you.

How inventory is done with digital count lists and barcode scanners

You can get started with digital inventory anywhere by using the software on your mobile device. You can either display all released count lists or search for a specific list by entering an inventory list number. When you select a count list, all the inventory items that need to be counted are displayed. The count list can be processed in any order. The inventory items can also be filtered further, for example, by entering or scanning an item number, storage bin, serial number, or batch. Once the quantity of an item has been recorded, the result is automatically transferred to the ERP system.

The “Hide counted” function provides greater clarity during inventory by hiding all processed items. If this is not enabled, items that have already been counted are highlighted in green in the count list, so you can still keep track of everything. If you want to add additional inventory items during inventory, you can do this quickly and easily via the mobile app.

By performing a plausibility check when posting the counted quantity, the inventory management software alerts you if there is too great a deviation from the previous quantity. This successfully prevents counting or typing errors. Another feature that ensures greater reliability: before posting, the storage bin must be scanned to prevent mix-ups. If the item has a batch or serial number, this must also be scanned for confirmation before posting.

L-mobile WMS not only ensures accuracy during inventory, but also supports you from the moment goods are received by ensuring they are posted correctly. By scanning everything instead of working with printed lists, you create real-time transparency with regard to your stock and reduce inventory discrepancies to a minimum.
