In warehouse management and the production environment, unfinished products, also referred to as semi-finished products, semi-finished goods or work-in-progress, describes stock that has not yet been completely finished and will be processed into finished products at a later date.
The “UP Inventory” extension module of the L-mobile warehouse management software for NAV/Business Central allows Navision or Business Central users to more effectively manage unfinished products (UP inventory) in production. You can use WMS NAV or mobile data collection for Business Central to temporarily store UP inventory in the warehouse with a mobile scanner, without needing to create pseudo-items in MS Dynamics NAV or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
The unfinished products can then be found more easily for the next work step thanks to transparent stock management and made available to production for further processing as quickly as possible. The only prerequisite for mobile data collection of unfinished product stock are current operations or activities in the production order in Navision or Business Central. The stock management of unfinished products then takes place in L-mobile tables and is detached from the actions of the production order in MS Dynamics NAV/Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
