In case of a detected stock difference, in other words an unintentional discrepancy between the warehouse stock and the stock record with respect to the database, authorized users are able to make a correction.
Any differences in warehouse stock are identified and corrected at least once per year. This process is called an inventory. However, differences in inventories can also often arise during the year, for example because of theft, disposal, stock transfers, or consumption of materials without registration in the ERP system.
If an employee detects discrepancies between the stock record and the warehouse stock during operation, they usually report these to their supervisor so that the latter can make the necessary corrections in MS Dynamics NAV or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
In most cases, these deviations are noted manually and then transferred to Navision or Business Central. To perform a stock correction in NAV or Business Central, MS Dynamics NAV and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central employ an inventory record sheet. You need to select in this inventory record sheet whether the item in question is a receipt or a removal. Information about the storage location and storage bin code, as well as the quantity difference, is also entered. Another alternative would be to manually enter a removal on the item record sheet.
The stock correction is completed after successful posting in MS Dynamics NAV or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This posting is reflected in the product or value items and corresponding inventory items are generated in MS Dynamics Navision or Business Central.
