Do you want to withdraw manufacturing material from the warehouse for production? With L-mobile WMS, you get digital bills of materials from the ERP system directly on your mobile device and can withdraw the materials quickly and easily. Real-time connection to your ERP system enables you to post the withdrawal of material without subsequent manual entry. The “Production Issue” function is an extension module of the L-mobile warehouse management software.

In addition to classic withdrawal, other functions are available for your production operations. The “Production Unplanned Issue” extension module allows you to withdraw and post additional items that are not on the bill of materials. If a withdrawal of material needs to be canceled, you can do this using the “Return Production” extension module. The “Production Multi-Picking” extension module provides a great way to speed up the withdrawal of material, as it allows you to pick multiple orders in one go.

This ensures that all movements of goods to production are recorded quickly, reliably, and error-free by the various L-mobile WMS modules.

If items from the warehouse are required for a production order, they can be withdrawn and posted via a mobile device. L-mobile WMS constantly exchanges data with your ERP system, enabling the digital withdrawal of material without subsequent manual entry. The bills of materials for the production orders created in your ERP system can be viewed and efficiently processed on a handheld scanner.

Recording the withdrawal of material easily and digitally

The first step is to select the production order. L-mobile WMS will indicate the priority of the orders. If there are orders with a higher priority than the selected order, a message will appear allowing the employee to act accordingly.

The order view shows you all items on the bill of materials, including the storage bin and open quantities. Here you can already incorporate warehouse strategies such as FIFO, LIFO, etc. to ensure the ideal withdrawal of material. Batch and serial numbers are also taken into account, and the employee is guided through the warehouse based on efficient routes. The storage bin and the items are then scanned, the quantity is confirmed, and the withdrawal is posted. This not only ensures the reliable withdrawal of material, but also provides real-time stock transparency. Withdrawal for production is now complete and posted in the ERP system.

Unplanned withdrawal of material and return of surplus parts

What if a part that has already been withdrawn for your production order is damaged? Usually, you just grab a new part from the warehouse, but then your inventory is messed up. L-mobile WMS also allows you to perform an unplanned withdrawal of material and post it transparently. To do this, you can use the “Production Unplanned Issue” extension module to add the required materials that are not on the bill of materials yourself using a barcode scanner. The bill of materials for the production order is supplemented accordingly and the usage is posted directly in the ERP system.

Surplus parts can be another issue when it comes to the withdrawal of manufacturing material. For example, if too many components were withdrawn or there are parts left over after completing the order. However, since these have already been recorded as used via the digital solution, they must be returned. The “Return Production” extension module allows you to post items back to the warehouse and report them back to the ERP system. Damaged or defective parts can also be posted to a scrap warehouse or QA warehouse, for example. This not only ensures that your inventory is correct, but also allows you to identify issues with the quality of materials—for example, a supplier can be notified if multiple defective parts have been received.

Picking multiple production orders in a single pass

Want to speed up the withdrawal of material even more and reduce process routes? The “Production Multi-Picking” extension module allows you to pick multiple orders in a single pass. To do this, you first select the desired orders, and identical items are automatically consolidated and compiled in a digital pick order. This list guides you through the warehouse based on efficient routes, allowing you to pick and post multiple goods for your orders directly.

If desired, multi-order picking can be supported by a picking trolley with Pick by Light/Put to Light modules. At the start, each order is assigned a container and a place on the trolley by scanning. Upon commencing the withdrawal of material, the modules on the trolley light up to indicate the containers into which the goods are to be placed. Then simply confirm by pressing the button on the module and you can move on to the next storage bin. Combining multi-order picking with Pick by Light/Put to Light makes the withdrawal of material even more intuitive.
