Tunisian company Nani S.A.R.L. has been producing high-quality plastic toys for the past 40 years, most notably Schleich figures and tonies®. The company now has 3,000 employees and recently relocated operations from four sites in Tunisia to a single large facility. The company ultimately decided to implement the warehouse management solution from L-mobile.
The main goal for Nani S.A.R.L. was the transparent mapping of warehouse processes, and this has certainly been achieved, explains Uwe Essel at Nani S.A.R.L. Thanks to warehouse management with the mobile solution, all stock is now mapped in real time and error-free. The implementation of L-mobile warehouse ready for Sage is just the first of many projects. Other processes, such as production data collection and shipping, are also being redesigned with L-mobile and are to be digitalized in the near future. It was the mutual rapport between the two companies that was key to why the initial order for the software solution was placed with L-mobile. As Uwe Essel (Project Manager at Nani S.A.R.L.) says: “It is really important that companies have the right chemistry, that we can do this together. Right from the start, we felt like we could accomplish this project together.” Uwe Essel was also impressed with the project management team, who did a particularly good job, as everything was always completed on schedule and the customizations are working as promised. In addition, the 20 warehouse workers easily got to grips with the new solution from the outset. Minimal training was required and it only took two days.

The company’s headquarters are located in Tunisia, but they also have another factory in China as well as a mold-making facility in Portugal. The seamless and transparent mapping of the flow of goods in the warehouse, from goods receipt through production to stock removal, presented the biggest challenge. The existing processes were very complicated and the manual recording of the movement of goods constantly resulted in inaccurate warehouse stock levels. In addition, the company faced new challenges such as high staff growth. As a result, it was no longer possible to map warehouse processes in conjunction with Sage 100 using the existing 10-year-old self-programmed solution. Nani S.A.R.L. set out in search of a mobile and digital solution to optimize the company’s warehouse processes. The company ultimately decided to implement the warehouse management solution from L-mobile.
The L-mobile warehouse solution enables the quick and seamless digital posting of putaway, withdrawal of material for production, and receipt of finished goods back in the warehouse. Stock information also provides greater transparency over the stock held in storage bins. The current stock can be seen at any time in Sage 100 as well as on mobile handheld devices.
It has thus been possible to map all warehouse stock transparently and in real time in the Sage 100 ERP system. In addition, Nani S.A.R.L. packs all figures in small load carriers. They have a batch number which makes it possible to determine the number of figures in the carrier. Now when an employee enters the batch number in the L-mobile solution, the exact number of figures that are in the small load carrier is returned. Previously, each small load carrier had to be scanned and posted individually. So L-mobile developed a custom solution that now allows Nani S.A.R.L. to post multiple small load carriers via the pallet. Only the item number, stock, and storage bin are shown in Sage 100.
