The mobile warehouse management solution for Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision) and Business Central makes it possible for you to transfer stock in logistics quickly, easily, and reliably. Once the item and storage bin have been identified by scanning a barcode with a handheld scanner, the stock can be transferred from any storage bin to another. The software-based stock transfer is recorded instantly and seamlessly in your NAV (Navision) or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP system.

MS Dynamics NAV or Business Central automatically recognizes whether the process involves a logistical stock transfer from one storage bin to another or whether it involves the movement of goods from one storage location to another. At the same time, MS Dynamics NAV or Business Central selects the correct journal in the background and executes the correct command (posting or registration) completely automatically.

It is possible to perform stock transfers for individual items, entire storage bins, series, or batches in the warehouse management system for NAV (Navision) and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. If you need to quickly transfer multiple items in logistics, the mobile data collection solution for NAV/Business Central can also be used to perform a bulk transfer (bin to bin) in real time.

MS Dynamics NAV (Navision) and Business Central differentiate between two types of transfer within logistics. The first involves transfer from one storage bin to another storage bin within the same storage location, while the second involves transfer from one storage location to a different storage location.

Relocation From Storage Bin to Storage Bin Within One Storage Location
When a relocation process moves goods from one storage bin to another, MS Dynamics NAV and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central open a logistics reclassification journal. The journal records information such as item number, “From Storage Bin” and “To Storage Bin” as well as quantity and unit code. The transfer is recorded in logistics in MS Dynamics by clicking the “Register” icon.
Relocation From One Storage Location to Another Storage Location
To transfer stock from one storage location to another, you first need to open the reclassification journal in NAV or Business Central. This contains information such as the item number, the current storage bin, the storage location code, and the new storage bin, including the storage location code. In addition, the reclassification journal also records the quantity and unit code. Clicking the “Post” button records the logistical transfer in MS Dynamics. The updated item, storage, and value postings are now available in the Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central journal.
