Free Location with L-mobile warehouse ready for MS Dynamics

Searching for free space with NAV or Business Central warehouse management software allows the warehouse personnel to call up information about free storage bins, right on the spot. Mobile data collection makes searching for free storage bins in Navision or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central noticeably easier and saves a considerable amount of time. Furthermore, the WMS for Navision or Business Central allows all information to be displayed on the mobile end device and then retrieved during the ongoing process, without needing to interrupt the current activity.

The Free Location module is integrated into various modules within WMS NAV/Business Central and can be called up directly from the application. The L-mobile Free Location module uses mobile data collection to also access all information from the storage location map or from the storage bins in the mobile view. In contrast to Navision and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, the free space search with the warehouse management system for NAV and Business Central is presented in a clear and user-friendly screen and optimally supports the worker during the whole process.

Free Location in Microsoft Dynamics NAV & Business Central

To find free storage bins in Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central, the corresponding storage location is selected under the “Warehouse and Warehouse stock” tab and the associated storage location map is opened. Using the storage location map in Navision or MS Dynamics 365 Business Central, the various storage bins within the selected storage location can be called up within the free space search in MS Dynamics NAV and Business Central. The table that is then called up can now be filtered for free storage bins via Navision or Business Central and all free storage bins within the selected storage location are listed.

Challenges when looking for free space in Microsoft Dynamics NAV & Business Central

Searching for free space directly from NAV or MS Dynamics 365 Business Central can be very tedious. To do so, the employee needs to interrupt their current activity, for example undertaking goods receipt or stock transfer, in order to get the information on a PC via Navision or Business Central about where they can store the goods they want to move at that moment. They need to note down this information and only then can they continue the task at hand. They also need to have basic knowledge of working with MS Dynamics NAV or Business Central in order to be able to access the required information.
