Recording batch stock transfers in Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Business Central quickly, easily, and on the go

The “Batch Storage” function in our mobile warehouse management solution, L-mobile warehouse, allows you to post individual items from different storage bins to a shared target storage bin quickly, easily, and right there on the spot. To do this, the relevant items and storage bins are first identified by scanning the barcode with a handheld scanner. Scanning the target storage bin initiates “Batch Storage”, thereby instantly and seamlessly recording the batch stock transfer in Navision/NAV and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

The MS Dynamics NAV or Business Central ERP system automatically recognizes whether the process involves batch stock transfer from one storage bin to another or whether it involves combined transfer from one storage location to another. Accordingly, in the background, the correct journal is selected entirely automatically in Navision/MS Dynamics NAV or Business Central.

Like normal transfers, it is possible to perform batch stock transfers for individual items, entire storage bins, series, or batches with the mobile data collection solution for NAV and Business Central.

Batch Storage in Microsoft Dynamics NAV & Business Central

To map a batch stock transfer in Navision/NAV or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, all movements of goods must first be recorded individually in the ERP system. This requires the written notes made by warehouse personnel, who recorded all the necessary information, such as the items, source storage bin, and target storage bin, during the physical stock transfer.

A line is now written in the reclassification journal in MS Dynamics for each transfer made in the warehouse. Once all the transfers have been entered in full, all the movements of goods are posted in one go.

The process for batch stock transfer in Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central involves duplicate data collection, which not only takes more time but also means that there is an increased risk of errors.
